recap of a decade

Happy New Year Everyone!
Wow, a decade has passed and now a new one begins.

A Decade in review

2000 – 2005

Those were not my proudest moments in life. I was 18 – 23 years of age then and all I can is that I was not in a happy place. Amongst other things, I was also suffering from eating disorder (I was bullimic), constantly on a diet pill, party too much, drank too much, and was also stuck in an awful and abusive relationship with a dickhead for 4 painful years.

But on the bright side of things, I am thankful for those years because I got out of it stronger and wiser. I learned a hell lot from all the mistakes and choices that I made and as cliche as this may sound, what does not kill you makes you stronger.

2005 – 2006

My life took a turn for the better. I was single, fresh out from an awful relationship. I met new people, made new friends and had the best year finding myself back. I also found true friendship.

I committed that year to being happy and to focus on myself. It was an interesting year.

2006 – 2009

I met John in Jan 2006, got engaged on 1 Jan 2007, and relocated to New Zealand on March 2007. We both then moved to Sydney on March 2008.

On 21 March 2009, we got married in New Zealand and had a wonderful honeymoon in Fiji.

Also in 2009, I became a vegetarian, visited home and caught up with family and best friends after being away for 3 years.

I would say these years were certainly the best years of my life.

It has been one helluva decade with the bests and the worsts and I’m really excited what the new one brings.

In the next decade, my biggest wish is to have kid(s), become a mother and venture into the world of motherhood. I would also want to be a better wife, daughther, friend and a person in general.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!

Wishing you a year filled with good health, happiness and prosperity!
