pregnancy updates
This is me today at the hospital getting my blood pressure profile and CTG done. Last thursday at my routine appointment, they checked me and found that my blood pressure was a tad high (145/90) and there was trace of protein in my urine, although not much to cause an alarming concern but my midwife was taking no chances. She was concerned that it might be an early sign of pre-eclampsia although looking at my records from all my past visits, I have had a good record of health (good blood pressure, clear urine, no antenatal concerns) so was quite curious as to why my BP was unusually high that day. She did asked me a lot of questions like if I might have been rushing that morning prior to the appointment and what not which may cause bp to rise. I did, however did some exercise, mainly walking and housework like vacumming so I suspect that might be it but I couldn't explain the same for the trace of protein in my urine.
So she sent me to do my bloods and then made an appointment for me to come back to the hospital today to do my bp profile (where they take my blood pressure 4 times within an hour) and CTG (where they strap this monitor thingy on my belly to trace baby's heart rate). They also tested my urine again and guess what, all is well! No protein in urine, blood pressure is normal and baby's heart rate is perfect. So really, what happened on thursday was an unexplained odd one.
You cannot believe how relief I was! And now, all there is to do is to wait patiently till miss snuggle bottom is ready to come out. I have been getting some mild sporadic contractions these days and midwife said that I may go into labour in the next couple of days. It is time to come out now baby girl!
