Happy 2012

I really cannot believe we are already well into January 2012! I am a tad late of blogging this New Years post as I have been spending some quality time with my little family over the last 2 - 3 weeks. As John had his two weeks leave and was home, we have been spending alot of time together with the little one. Alot of the time were spend chilling out and swimming since weather here has been nothing but fantastic.

Year 2011 had been very good to us. It was a monumental year for the McLeans. 2011 has seen me becoming pregnant right at the start of the year, me turning 30, the birth of our first born baby girl and of course, entering the whole new world of motherhood. The whole year of 2011 was pretty much dedicated to our baby and taking on the most hardest and rewarding job in the world, that is being a mother/ parents.

Year 2011 was also a year where both John and I bonded even more strongly. Through Scarlett, we saw each other through the sleepless nights, the hard times with a newborn and also the whole pregnancy shenanigans. John is the husband of the year in my eyes and he's there for me through it all - from the pregnancy, the birth and the support I needed post-pregnancy. He's ALWAYS there, always. It is amazing seeing him taking on this new role of being a dad and watching him with our daughther, just melts me into a big puddle of mush. That father and daughter bond is just beautiful.

Despite the few small hurdles post-pregnancy, I am loving this new life. Since her arrival, not a day in our life is mundane. Every single day is different - It can be tiring, messy, chaotic, challenging but despite all that, it is also full of laughter, love and life! I would not trade it for anything in the world! Every night I say my prayer of gratitute that she has been blessed into our life, healthy and happy. I am truly grateful.
