As most couples do, an occasion like this would always call for a nice dinner somewhere. Although this year is a little different, we decided to do a simple lunch together during work day. No fuss jumping hoops to get someone to babysit Scarlett which proves to be a very difficult task. We don't want to keep asking the same person too many times and I didn't want to bother my neighbour again all too soon. With John's big milestone party looming close, which is next weekend, we decided to go simple with our wedding anniversary. Don't want to overdo with the whole celebration thing since John's party is going to be a big one.
Even though its during work hour lunch, it still counts! We may or may not have had a longer lunch break.

Print Hall is one of the newest restaurant that recently opened in the CBD. It is Perth's first multi level dining and bar. The venue boasts four levels of culinary and refined drinking. Each level has its own name, such as Small Print - Baker & Roastery, Print Hall - Bar & Dining Room, The Apple Daily - Bar and Eating House and Bob's Bar. It's a very flash and impressive place. A strict dress code was needed at Print Hall Dining Room and thankfully I wore my suit jacket today so I was safe!
Service was top notch. Very attentive, friendly and professional. Our maitre'd was lovely and checked on us every now and then. Our glasses of water were filled every few minutes without being ask to. Food arrived promptly on time without much delay between each course. All was good and I had no complains, well, maybe just one (they charged $10 for unlimited still plain water!!) But the food was yummy.
I was too embarrased to take photos of the restaurant/ food and don't want to be seen as that stereotypical asian lady taking a photo of every single food. So I did a sneaky sneaky here and there! I just had to! So bear with me if the photos aren't that great. Haha
We went for a three course meal. Although we were abit struggling towards the end. We were undecisive about whether we should order dessert since we were pretty full after the mains. But we reckon since we don't fine dine all that often, we should go for it. I mean, come on, dessert is the best part of the meal! I had to find a place somewhere in my tummy to fit it in! Yeap, I totally had to say that to justify my overeating. But guess what, it was well worth it!
I ordered the Seared King Prawns with Fremantle Octopus, Jamon Serrano and Orange and John. I LOVE this dish. It was so fresh and delicious. The saltiness from Jamon gave the whole dish a big oomph and the little cut up orange pieces with orange glaze just tie everything together. Not forgetting those big juicy fresh prawns just took everything to the next level. It was so good.

I talk John into getting the Magaret Rriver Wagyu Tenderloin for his main and I went for a fish dish, Pan Roasted Barramundi with Wood Grilled Mussels and Squid, which was nothing short of awesome. The fish was well cooked and not overdone, the skin was crispy and well season as it should be. I don't normally like Mussels all that much on its own unless its doused heavily in some sort of sauce to get rid of the fishy taste. However, these mussels were fantastic!
I didn't try John's wagyu so I don't know how good they were. Judging from the plate, it must have been really good because he walloped all of it. The confit young potato were delicious! Cripsy skin, fluffy and creamy inside. Just how I like my roast potatos to be. Couldn't go wrong when you cook them in fat!

Bittersweet Chocolate Fondant Cake with Hazelnuts, Choccolate Fondant and Vanilla bean ice cream
I don't really have to tell you that this was the piece de resistance. Chocolate Fondant with Vanilla ice cream. Presentation was lovely, so did the taste! Fondant cake was made to perfection. I couldn't fault this dish. I was extremely happy devouring every mouthful in silence of joy. I was taken to heavenly chocolate paradise and back. It was a great way to end the meal. Perfecto!
A toast to us! Happy Anniversary Darling..
