Australia Day

Happy Australia Day from this little Aussie!

We just had a lovely long Australia Day weekend. Miss Bossy was exceptionally in good form all weekend and was such a delightful little girl. No tantrums whatsoever.

We headed to the beach in the morning to check out the celebration but didn't stayed long, just an hour or so. Miss Bossy had a go at the swing at the playground, and later on we sat at the ampitheatre listening to a band playing, overlooking the gorgeous ocean view. We headed home afterwards for lunch and made sure Miss Bossy had her arvo nap as we were planning to head into town to watch the skyworks in the evening.

We made an executive decision to watch the fireworks this year. We don't usually do this sort of thing on occasion like this, due to the well known fact that parking would be the main problem for us. However, since I work near where the skyworks was going to be, and I have free parking, we thought why the hell not!

It was actually very fuss free! Kings Park was definitely packed but it wasn't too much drama. Skyworks was due to start at 8pm and we managed to get into the city at quarter pass seven, load Miss Bossy onto the stroller and  walked down to the celebration zone. When we got there, we managed to find a small grass patch and parked ourselves there. Skyworks started not long after that so we got there right on time!

Miss Bossy impressed us so much that night. She was happy to sit in her stroller and behaved very well throughout the whole thing! It was also her first time watching fireworks and I am glad to say that she enjoyed it.

We left half way through the fireworks to avoid the mayhem afterwards. It was a lovely day, especially more so when Miss Bossy behaved!

xo, Miss Leney
