Potty training

So, we are starting Miss Bossy on potty training this week. We went and bought a potty, which I find is quite a task to say the least. I mean, who would have thought that there are so many potty to chose from and i'm not even joking when I say that! They come in various types - you have the plain boring jane right up to the fancy schmancy blingify (is that even a word!?) potty. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating but you get the drift?

Of course we had to pick one of the expensive ones. However, we thought that since it does have dual function use, and by that, I mean, it can be used as a stand alone potty, or as an attachment to the toilet itself, it sort of justify the amount we pay for it. Sort of.

Cheer me potty

The additional fancy add ons are a toilet roll holder attached to the potty itself and wait for it..........it plays music. Yes, music, coming out of the potty. After the child do a wee or poo in the potty, the music will come on. It is a rewarding system, so music will only come on if they have done a pee or poo. It also makes them intrigued and want to do it more.

I'm not sure exactly how that works but we will soon find out. My biggest fear is that, Miss Bossy would treat this as a toy and not take it seriously. I guess if that happens, we would probably just use the attachment.

Miss Bossy would most probably have her potty trained in childcare, since she goes there 5 days a week. The great news is, childcare do potty train the kids and they have equip facilities (this, i mean mini children toilet) to do so. And you know with toddlers, it's much more quicker for them to learn when they see their peers doing the same thing. Monkey see, monkey do.

Anyway, wish us luck! Hopefully this would not be all too stressful! Another big milestone reached for this little lady.

xo, Miss Leney
