pets on furniture

The lovely Lady J has tagged me to do a post on 'Pets on furniture' and I am more than delighted to do this. You'll probably know by now that I have two furbabies - or furmonsters I would like to call them and they are non other than the two felines that I have come to own in the past 5 years. We call them Pinky (white kitty) and Disco (black kitty) in that order.

As you know, cats sleep anywhere in the house and most of the time, on your furniture. I thought that to do a post on 'Pets on furniture' would be tad too 'normal' for cat owners so I've decided to do a bit different and post photos of my cats favourite spots in the house: my husband's lap and our bed.

I don't know what is it about him that they love to snuggle up on his lap! Especially Pinky - she LOVES him.

And then there is Disco who also show similar interest like his sister but definitely not as passionately as her.

Although Disco is not really a lap cat like Pinky but every now and then he would surprise us and jump on our (HIS mostly) lap for cuddles.

As much as I love my cats, sometimes I wish they could sleep somewhere else at night. I got a feeling that they think they own the place. Like i'm not kidding, it really gets abit crowded on the bed with all four of us on it. It used to be just any one cat on the bed, given that they don't get along much but nowadays (maybe because it's winter) we find both cats on the bed. Once or twice is cute, but every night? Not so much. We tried to be subtle about it and gently nudge them and annoy the hell out of them in hoping they will jump off but what do you know, they are a duo of persistent little buggers! They won't budge means they won't budge!

Please do pop over to Lady J, yAnn and Miss Ene site to read on their take on 'Pets on furniture'!

  1. Thanks dear for doing this. Love how Pinky looks so comfy on your husband's lap. And Disco's eyes look v intense but I'm sure he's a sweetie. ;)

  2. no worries babe! Yeah Disco is not photogenic, alot of people commented he has 'eerie' eyes but he's far from it.. He's my fluffy little boy, very cute. Maybe I dont do him justice with my photo-taking skills! LOL

  5. Pet Lover: Well I think it differs from Cats and Dogs. For dogs, it's all about letting the dog know who is the leader in the house and provide boundaries and limitations for them. If you don't they will show you whos the boss and you dont want that. As for Cats, its really up to the owners - mostly for hygiene purposes and of course, preventing them from scratching your furniture. But then if you provide them resources like scratching post etc, they wouldn't. But honestly, cats sleep whereever they please - of course you would use your common sense and not allow them to sit/walk on dining tables or kitchen bench - places where you prepare/ eat food.

OMG that's exactly it babe.. Haha.. :)
