project nursery: wall art

I have been working on the nursery these days and have been spending alot of time searching for ideas online. I wanted it to be simple, whimsical and definitely DIY. I love crafts and I used to do alot back in the days and you wouldn't believe how excited I was when I knew I've finally had the chance to dabble in a bit of crafts and creativity for my daughther's room.

The one thing that I really wanted to work on were the walls. Given that the room isn't that big to start with, I didn't want to over do it yet didn't want it to look too bare. I was so inspired by this, this and this and decided to do the same for baby's room. Whoever came up with this idea is a geniius! It's brilliant and so whimsical. Having them hung on the ceiling wall above the crib makes is even more cute as baby can stare at it all day long, works like a charm I reckon. All you need are some soft tissue-like papers and strings and you can make them yourself. See here for DIY video on how to make them.

I also bought some frames and use pretty craft papers and frame them up. And I like the idea of having Sunshine's initials on the wall so I went to Spotlight and bought the wooden letters and some craft papers and made them. I just traced out the letter on paper, cut and paste it on the front side of the letter and woah lah! So simple and doesn't cost you much at all!

Some other little knick-knacks that i've hung on the other walls were the bunting and the cute birdie sets both of which i've bought online from a lady in the UK who makes them.

I'm not quite done yet, I think i'm gonna make more pom poms to hang them up with the rest to make the space 'fuller' but do watch this space for more upcoming project nursery.

I first saw those pompoms in real life when a friend made them for my sis's birthday party. Loved them then and still do!

I'm also planning to do bunting for Bubbles' room! Love how they cheer up a space :)
