The good thing about Singapore is, it's always developing new things, always changing. John and I marvelled at the architecture and infrasttructure of the high rise buildings and skyscrapers because it's brilliant. If you compare to anything like Perth or Australia for that mattter, Singapore is a hands down winner.
The view at the top of skypark... over looking the city... and yes it was overcast..
Looking down at the Gardens by the bay.... the two dome-like conservatories as you can see on the left.. and Supertress on the right...
London has one, we have one too.... The Singapore Flyer...
We had a little walk around the new Marina Bay Sands short for MBS. MBS is a new hotel aka casino aka shopping centre in Singapore. It is famous for its impressive architectural and it's something you've never seen before. It is about 60 storeys high and has the infinity pool and sky park on the top floor with an amazing city view.
General public are able to pay $20 to go up to the skypark observatory to have a view. However, you'll need to hop onto a tour to view the infinity pool as it's strictly for hotel guests. They do run a few sessions a day for the tour of the pool but we were there in between the tour times so we flagged it. However, we found that $20 bucks for a 5 - 10 mins view is quite ripped off. If we would have known, we would just flagged it altogether.
Can't see much but there's part of the infinity pool as could be seen in the photo...
Can we go now please Daddy? Its very hot!
Marina Bay Sands... it looked to us like a ship (that's where the infinity pool and skypark are) had landed on top of the building! It's pretty impressive.
Inside MBS, the indoor ice skating ring...
Shops..
From MBS, there's a connecting bridge where you can walk over to the Gardens by the Bay. Gardens by the Bay is an integral plan to transform Singapore into a Garden City. As you know, Singapore pride herself for her cleanliness and greenery and Gardens by the Bay is intended to be a premier outdoor recreation space, a national icon.
The Gardens consists of three waterfront gardens namely, Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden.
Taking a photo with the Supertrees in the Gardens by the bay
Supertrees are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens' landscape. They are actually vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, which include planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens. They pretty much serve air intake and exhaust functions as the conservatories cooling systems.
Making our way over to the Gardens by the Bay....

The day had started out with clear blue skies, but in typical Singapore fashion, it had gotten hazier as the day went on, so Erin and I welcomed the opportunity to go up to the observation deck on the 57th floor of the Marina Bay Sands for free, rather than paying for a trip on the Singapore Flyer in less than optimal viewing conditions.
