I have recently been following a few Aussie mummy bloggers and reading their wonderful blogs. They are a wealth of information when it comes to little children. Most of them are stay at home mums and who previously were pre-school/primary school teachers. The stuff they do with their kiddies is amazing and imaginative and it inspire me of what I could do with Scarlett.
The fabulous group of mummies believe that play matters. Play is vital and important part in a child’s life. The mummies are building an instagram community to celebrate all the varied ways that children play and also a way to record those playful precious moments in our children’s lives.
I truly believe in the philosophy of letting children be children. These days I see far too many over-enthusiastic parents who get so bogged down with getting their children into all sorts of classes, extra-curriculum activities at such an early age in hoping that their children will one day be that brainy, genius and prodigy child that they hope they will become.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for children being smart and talented but what I don't get is, parents pushing it far too early. There are plenty of time for that!
Play is important to the development of our children. Play does not have to be with the latest toys or anything like that. It could be free and creative! Pastas, empty bottles, wooden spoon and plastic bowls, cardboard boxes, running in the park, play with water in the yard.... the list is endless..
Nothing is more wonderful than watching your children immerse themselves in the wonderful world of play - Ali
