[Weekend series]: Toddlerfest 2013

Toddlerfest is an event that's organised by Scitech specially for children age 0 - 7 years old. The Scitech runs Toddlerfest annually and brings special exhibits especially for toddlers.

There were alot of 'action stations' there to keep those little inquisitive minds amused.. from the thong organ to the pulleys to hoist foam bricks up in a bucket to build a wall. There were so many of these types of stations with heaps of buttons to push or levers to pull. There was also Discoveryland dedicated for 3 - 7 year olds and another area for smaller children age 0 - 3 yrs old, both of which had great activities for kids.

Scarlett amused at the little chicks that just hatched from the egg shells..

There was a good little petting zoo, with piglets, baby goat, rabbits, ducks, guinea pigs. Kids could also sit and hold the smaller animals like rabbits and guines pihs while it nibbled on carrots and lettuce.

Scarlett was very interested in the petting zoo, however it was so crowded that she could only watch from the outside of the fence. It definitely was a sure winner area for kids thats for sure.

Why do we look so wonky Daddy? Playing with distorted mirrors

The bubble stand was pretty popular with the children too. No surprises there. There's also a dedicated area just for buggy parking, what an excellent idea!

Pardon me for my iphone photos and I know they are somewhat blurry and dimlight. Silly me left my big boy at home so had to improvised. I didn't take many photos as I've got my hands full and it was very crowded!

Totally mesmerised with this!

There was also 'Get up and jiggle' type of shows happening a few times throughout the day, such as 'Lets Move Puppet Show' and the 'Kangaroo Creek Gang'. We stayed to watch the Kangaroo Creek Gang show as it was about to start when we were there.. John found a spot right at the front near the main stage. Scarlett seemed to enjoy the show in the first few bit but when they started to sing and the music came on, it became too loud (even I found it very loud) and set her off so we had to leave.

See if you could spot John... hint: right at the front!

Both John and I are quite geeky (Shhh!) and we did enjoy the science exhibit ourselves! Although we could enjoy it more if it wasn't that crowded. Perhaps next year we would have to come on a week day or something to beat the crowds!

Toddlerfest typicall runs for two weeks. The event has finshed now so if you have not been there, look out for it next year! We will definitely be back again!
